My featured business this week is…Sweet Cheesus!

I came across this fabulous mini cheesecake company at a bloggers event just before Christmas and they should literally come with a warning as they are probably the most delicious shop bought sweet treats that I have enjoyed in some time!

Flavours include Vanilla, Cookies & Cream, Apple Crumble, Salted Caramel & Pecan (my personal absolute fave!), White Chocolate & Summer Fruits and Salted Caramel (Gluten Free). Each are handmade and are the perfect size for a mini dessert or for a luxurious treat. I can highly recommend trying out all the different flavours. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the Salted Caramel and Pecan and it ended up being my personal favourite! Why not get your friends over for dinner and buy a selection to share? Or snuggle down in front of a movie on a Sunday night with your favourite to indulge in?

They are currently available in Selfridges and in various stockists around London with a view to branching into supermarket chains in the near future so keep your eyes peeled! Once customers get a taste for how good these are they will be flying off the shelves! Visit their website by clicking here and make sure you follow them on Twitter @SweetCheesusUK

If you could have any flavour cheesecake what would it be? Leave your answer in the comments!

Christmas Box Swap with Twisted Beauty

So a little bit of a belated post but I had a bit of a break from posting over the Christmas period! I did however want to share a fabulous Christmas box swap that I did with Twisted Beauty – kind of like Secret Santa, but not so secret! We each had to give each other five general things on our wish list and purchase gifts up to a budget of £20.

I absolutely loved buying all the cute gifts for Rachael from Twisted Beauty on her list! She had owls, tea, something mauve, Home Bargains and photographs. It was so fun trying to find the items and within the budget as well. It gave me a few fun outings out in Covent Garden and on Oxford Street.

I definitely gave Rachael a bit of a challenge! My 5 things were:

  • The Big Bang Theory
  • Yankee Candles
  • Anything Kawaii
  • Cities – London/Paris
  • Sweet Treats

2016-01-03-17.24.54.jpg.jpeg

First off she got me a fabulous trivial pursuit of The Big Bang Theory. I love games so I’m so excited to play! I have been watching The Big Bang Theory lately and it’s one of my favourite TV series so I’m looking forward to testing my knowledge now!

My box had the unmistakable scent of gorgeous Yankee candles which I have become besotted with this Christmas. The beautiful scents fill the house and make it smell like a Winter wonderland! I love them! Rachael bought me some lovely wax melts which will ensure the scents will linger. Yum!

I love anything cute and kitsch so when I found this most beautiful llama bag in my box I was so delighted! I love Tofu Cute and originally had a cute little sushi bag from them. This is a perfect replacement and I can’t wait to use it as my reusable shopping bag from now on.

As you may know I am a total fan of anything handmade and unique. This cute printed mirror with all things London is the perfect addition to my make up bag. I love little compact mirrors – they’re so handy for keeping in your bag and ensuring your make up is on point throughout the day!

We met the Jewellerybox.co.uk business whilst attending the Bloggers Conference back in the Summer when I first met Rachael. I absolutely loved all their cute designs and I was so excited to open up some fabulous pink doughnut earrings! I love pink and love big bold earrings so I’m sure I will be wearing these a lot!

Scent City Review

Recently I received a little package of samples from the lovely, Scent City. Scent City offer a range of beautiful, niche fragrances. I chose to receive two samples, Annabelle – Shelly Kyle from the Ms Friendly range and also Early Roses – Teo Cabanel from the Ms Romance range. These are both light and sweet scents and I could immediately tell that they would last all day (which they did!)

wpid-2015-10-08-13.01.10.jpg.jpeg

When visiting their website I loved how easy it was to navigate and instead of just listing the different brands (as to be honest I have no idea where to start when it comes to choosing a new perfume!) they put each perfume under a different personality type under a group called ‘The Urbanites’ which I can only describe at the grown up version of the Mr Men characters! This draws on historically when perfume shopping was more tailored to the individual purchasing the perfume, associating scent to the individual.

The Urbanites included:

  • Mr Classic
  • Ms Classic
  • Mr Sophisticated
  • Ms Sophisticated
  • The Socials
  • Mr Tough
  • Ms Friendly
  • Ms High Maintenance
  • Ms Seductive
  • Dr Love
  • Ms Romance

I thought this was such a fantastic way to group the fragrances available and such a fun way to pick out a gift for someone by according to their personality. It definitely enhances the customer experience.

As these are luxury fragrances they do come with a price tag. The quality of the perfume however is fantastic and the scents are so stunning so you definitely get what you pay for in terms of luxury.

They also offer gifts in terms of jewellery and interior fragrances which will be coming soon. Visit their website by clicking here for more information on the full range.

Do you have a favourite fragrance?

#MyChocBloggers Event

On Sunday 26th April I attended my first blogger event in London. As I have never been to a bloggers event before I was a bit unsure as to what to expect but everyone was so lovely and friendly and there were plenty of other newbies there too!

The event was held at MyChocolate, a chocolate making events company located in a beautiful, light venue with floor to ceiling windows looking out over a canal near Shoreditch in London. After arriving, we all sat at workbenches and chatted about our different blogs and interests before we got started.

Hannah, who set up MyChocolate eight years ago introduced the business and described what we would be doing throughout the session. It would be a highlights session incorporating some of the best elements from various classes. We were introduced to Davis who would be talking us through the various techniques before we got onto the chocolate making!

wpid-20150426_120245.jpg

We started off by trying various types of chocolate, tasting the difference between a luxury chocolate and an ‘advent calendar’ chocolate. The chocolate smelt and tasted amazing (regardless of the type!) and it was definitely a good way to start! We also tried some more exotic flavours of chocolate, guessing which ingredients were included in creating them. I rarely try other types of chocolate (even being a bit wary of mixed boxes of chocolates!) however I really enjoyed guessing the different flavours and I will definitely be a bit more adventurous in future!

We then got onto the chocolate making, starting by working in pairs to make some delicious looking truffles. We had to work quickly to ensure the chocolate didn’t set. Davis then introduced us to a number of various techniques to decorate various sweet treats including chocolate fudge, marshmallows and the truffles we had produced! There was a lot of dipping in milk and dark chocolate, using flakes and nuts to smother the chocolates and various instruments to create pretty patterns on the chocolate. This was definitely the messy part of the session but everything smelt amazing!

As our chocolates set Hannah told us more about The Chocolate Hedgehog, a business selling gift sets to recreate the workshop in your own home. I thought this was such a fab idea and I look forward to creating some more chocolatey mess in my kitchen! Click here to find out more!

Overall, the event was a fantastic way to meet other bloggers and I had an amazing time! I’m really looking forward to the next one! I really enjoyed the experience at MyChocolate and would definitely recommend visiting the workshops as a fun way to spend a weekend afternoon or even as a corporate or hen party event!
